The age of casual Catholicism is over; The age of heroic Catholicism has begun. We can no longer be Catholics by accident; We must instead be Catholics by conviction.
When do we meet?
The Catholic Men's Group meets on the first Thursday of each month in the Parish Rooms at St Mary's Priory, Cleator.
Meeting times 6:30 - 7:30pm
The format of the meetings can vary but generally we open with a prayer, this is followed by a talk that teaches us something about the faith (often in the form of a video talk), followed by discussion. We then close with compline, the night prayer of the Church. After the meeting we retire to the Ennerdale hotel for drinks and conversation.
Who is the Men's Group for?
The Men's Group is for Catholic men of working age who wish to grow in their faith in the company of other Catholic men. It is also a welcoming and supportive place for men who may be returning to the faith with questions or those who are interested in finding out about the Catholic Church.
You are welcome to attend meetings or contact Thomas Robinson on 07719991104 to find out more.
What does the Catholic men's Group encourage?
Action is at the heart of being a Catholic man. Men must be single minded in pursuing the mission of authentic Catholic manhood.
Leading us to perfect our primary duty of sacramental and sacrificial fatherhood. We must pursue this mission in physical groups alongside good Catholic men, who we can imitate and encourage sharing in the Sonship that comes from the Eucharist. When men live out this mission, we will lead our families to Christ; then we and our families will bring the life of Christ into the world.
