Times are different at the moment but you will be assured of a warm welcome at either of our churches. We have a few procedure in place to ensure social distancing, however our friendly stewards will be on hand at the door if you require any assistance. For everyone's safety please use the hand sanitiser on the way in, masks must be worn, (we have a supply in case you don't have one), finally benches are marked with tape showing you where to sit.
If you are new to the area, been away from the practice of faith for a while or have never been to a church we would be delighted to see you! You are welcome to visit either of our two churches, St Mary's at Cleator or St Joseph's at Frizington. Mass is celebrated every day in the parish, however our main celebrations take place on Saturday evening and on Sunday. The 9:00 mass at St Joseph's and 10:30 at Cleator both have music, there is also a Children's Liturgy at 10:30. See here for Mass times.
People dress in a variety of styles for Mass, some more formally, some more casually, feel free to dress in whatever style suits you. When visiting us you can park in our car park or on the road in front of both churches. On the Sunday morning masses you will be greeted by our 'welcomers', they are there to help and will happily try to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to sit in any of the benches, you will find leaflets with the words of the mass to help guide you through the service. Hymn books are also in the benches so that you are able to join in with the singing. After the 10:30 Mass you are welcome to join us for tea and coffee in the parish rooms. We look forward to seeing you there!
